In 2021, the City of Chicago passed an ordinance to create a new model for police oversight via elected representatives who serve 22 District Councils (each representing a different police district).

The following members represent our current 10th and 12th Police Districts. They are liaisons betweens police and community working toward strengthening police accountability.

Civilian    Office of Police Accountability - COPA

About COPA:

The agency opened in 2017,  after the City Council passed an ordinance in 2016 to establish COPA. It is an independent agency within the City of Chicago which processes the intakes for all complaints regarding police misconduct by Chicago Police Officers.
